How We Get There
My approach to therapy is an evidence-based, client-centered and theoretically eclectic approach; I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Schema Therapy, and both 12-Step and Harm Reduction interventions. Sessions are tailored to meet the specific and individual needs of each client, which can even change during the course of a session. I have specific experience working with law enforcement/public safety professionals and in programs specifically designed for individuals from the healthcare, transportation/railroad, and aviation industries with mental health/substance use disorders. I am a generalist social worker, so I treat most conditions, but typically treat individuals, couples, and adolescents living with trauma/PTSD, ADHD/ADD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, religious trauma, sexual addictions, alcohol and drug, and anger management concerns. I also focus on serving the LGBTQIAP+ community.
What to Expect on the Inside:
Therapy sessions are conducted informally, and you are welcome to dress comfortably. We have heated neck warmers and weighted blankets, as we want you to feel relaxed. Feel free to bring a beverage, or if you need food while we talk, that is fine as well. We also have outdoor seating in a wooded setting, so sessions can be held outside, weather permitting and if you choose to do so. Regardless, you will be treated with unconditional positive regard and compassion and we hope your visit will be worthwhile.
